ProBlem
SourceAmerica believes every person with a disability should have the opportunity to obtain employment. This is a non-profit organizations which is helping all the needs of people with disability. One of the best way to show them best job opportunity that they can stand on their talent. They are sending a personal emails who is already in their network, but to use this feature SA wants to develop a job portal which Nonprofits can post their opportunity and also people with disability also can register and find a job. This whole information is designed to keep you informed about other employment resources.
Research
As this is a contract job for me to design and develop the portal, I had a deep drive into 508 Complaints. and gained a good amount of knowledge on Accessibility and Usability, Company gave a few weeks of IT Accessibility training with 508 complaint experts which really helps me to design this portal.
Developing a normal portal is entirely different than developing 508C . First time i worked with a bliend man and really impressed and become my role model on his confident level. Testing the entire portal with him is an awesome experience.
Participant observation
This is one of the effective and best research practice that I always do while interact with client/users. During the talk, i always observe what they are interest more about the features and which functionality they are repeating that motivate their users.
In-depth interviews
Prepare atelast 10 questions related to each topic before going to user interviews, some competititers features and and also sometimes ready immediately the idea with my pencil sketches. Always encourage users to describe their thoughts and feelings when they interact with the product.
A/B testing
Designing two different ideas by placing one LOGIN button can give idea that user think which one is better to make the process easy. I always ready with second design, some times user likes second as all the effort comes from the first will show on second design.
Card sorting
This is the key of final round, Yellow cards is the key role of my designs. This sorting rearranging the content/features after user interviews and testing makes my process more easy. Not only for me entire IT and Product team may understand the overall idea.

HELP ICON for each field
This is best way to handle the Jaws for accessibility. While part of the accessibility testing , blind man hit the tab then first accesses this help icon and read the text loud then he can enter the corresponding field. It is also easy for immediate understand of job seekers who is planing to apply the job as well as nonprofits.
Error Handling
Again for the accessibility purpose I need to choose old school methodologies that user can easily under and easily readable with color code for blurry vision and blind and non educators who also can easily understand without any help.
Real-Time Usability and Accessibility Testing with Screen Reader
Actively participated in Usability and Accessibility testing with Screen Reader, by using online free tools to real time blind man who is sitting next to me. While taking the notes from the testing i really felt very satisfied that I’m not only developing a portal but helping them such a great talented people.

With this Job Portal, contract with the highest quality products and services, along with a skilled national workforce of people with disabilities. This experience is extensive: Can provide oversight on $2.4 billion in federal contracts.
